Oysters

By RickHap · Comments (0)

I made a visit to Goode Company Seafood on Westpark drive in Houston last week.  Goode is a great restaurant, food and service is outstanding.

These oysters were as good as they get.  The St. Arnold’s Stout was a perfect compliment to the oysters.

Found a package of these ice cream treats at the local Mitsuwa Market.   Frozen confectionery from Japan.  Kau No Korokoro Ball – “White Rose”    No udders on the cows on the package…eat my udder.   Six teets per package.  Snip and serve.

$12.90 for ten caramels. I need to find my secret Caramel recipe. Maybe make up a batch for some homestyle caramel apples.

London From in 40J

By RickHap · Comments (0)

AA 777 LHR to ORD. Another full fight with the choice seats taken. Took a peek at SeatGuru.com and gave seat 40J a try. 40J is not a bad seat, a little extra leg room and the seat in front of you does not recline into your nose. You can open your laptop in this seat and use it without contortions. The downside is that you have the entertainment electronics at your feet, pick the aisle 40I if this is a bother. The J seat is nice since you can look out the window and you can lean to the right to sleep.

The Anglesea Arms

By RickHap · Comments (0)

I’ve had the pleasure of visiting The Anglesea Arms five or six times. The big blackboard on the wall lists the specials of the day. The choices are interesting & seasonal. Every dish is prepared to perfection. The wine list has good choices to pair with your dinner. The service is very good even though the Arms can get quite busy in the evening. Cozy atmosphere. The Anglesea Arms is as good as it gets.
